Bitcoin Critic Peter Schiff Advocates Silver Over BTC

Longtime Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff is once again voicing his skepticism about the world’s leading cryptocurrency. In a recent X post,Schiff argues that silver is a better investment than Bitcoin.

Schiff believes silver has more potential for growth and less risk compared to Bitcoin. He stated, “If you’re looking for an choice to gold, buying silver makes more sense than Bitcoin.” This stance is consistent with Schiff’s long-held belief that bitcoin lacks real value.

However, Schiff’s anti-Bitcoin comments have faced backlash from crypto enthusiasts. Many argue that Bitcoin has shown meaningful growth and adoption despite his repeated warnings. Some even pointed out that his predictions have not come true.

In response to a commenter, Schiff reiterated his stance. He claimed that people are making a mistake by investing in Bitcoin instead of silver. He warned that Bitcoin will only “destroy the fortune of those who buy it.”

Despite the criticism, Bitcoin still holds a larger market share than silver. As of now, Bitcoin ranks 7th among global assets with a market cap of about $2.079 trillion, slightly ahead of silver at $2.007 trillion.

Bitcoin’s performance has softened recently, but it remains steady amid geopolitical tensions. Currently, BTC trades just above $104,700, down about 3.8% from its weekly high of over $108,000.
