Bitnomial Launches XRP Futures Amid Ripple Legal Victory
Bitnomial, a crypto derivatives exchange, has introduced its XRP futures contract. This move follows the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) decision to drop its appeal in the Ripple case. On March 19, 2025, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse made the declaration.
Bitnomial promptly withdrew its lawsuit against the SEC.The exchange had filed the lawsuit in October 2024 after the SEC claimed jurisdiction over the proposed XRP futures product. Now, with the SEC under new leadership and a pro-crypto stance, Bitnomial is proceeding with its product launch.
The XRP futures contract will go live this Thursday, with approval from the Commodity and Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Bitnomial stated, “We are launching the first-ever CFTC-regulated XRP futures in the U.S. — physically settled for real market impact.”
Current Bitnomial clients can access the XRP futures contracts starting March 20,2025. New clients can onboard through one of Bitnomial’s futures commission merchant (FCM) partners. FCMs help investors trade futures contracts. Bitnomial Clearing is one such partner.
XRP’s price surged after Ripple’s announcement and may continue to rise with positive market projections.
