Echos AI Platform to Shut Down Due to Low Adoption
Echos, an AI platform for agentic tokens, is closing its doors. The platform, created by Stride, a Cosmos-based liquid staking solution, announced the shutdown on March 27. Operations will end on May 1, 2025.
Launched in beta in November 2024, Echos struggled to attract users. The team cited low adoption and a shrinking crypto AI agent market as reasons for the shutdown.
Echos was an experiment by Stride, built on Celestia. It aimed to disrupt decentralized finance with AI and memecoins. However, it failed to gain traction. The team advised users to withdraw funds before the May 1 deadline.
Echos drew inspiration from Terminal of Truths, an AI agent that boosted the memecoin GOAT. Despite its ambitious goals, Echos couldn’t move past its initial phase. Other AI projects like Virtuals Protocol and Freysa AI have gained more attention.
Stride’s vision for Echos was to allow anyone to create their own AI agent. But the project couldn’t sustain interest. The AI agent market has seen other successful projects emerge.
