Pump.fun Relaunches Livestreaming with stricter rules
After a brief hiatus, Pump.fun has reintroduced its livestreaming feature. On April 11, the Solana-based platform made the service available to all users. This move comes with a new moderation policy to prevent past issues.
Previously, in November, the platform faced problems when traders resorted to extreme stunts for attention. Some even showcased rug pulls live on air. Such as, a trader named nohandsnorug hid his hands on camera, only to reveal them later while selling the token’s liquidity.
Others engaged in dangerous or offensive behavior, threatening harm to themselves, others, or their pets unless traders bought their memecoins. To address this, the new policy bans violence, harassment, sexual content, and illegal activities. Offensive content is allowed, but promoting terrorism and violent extremism is strictly prohibited.
With the rise in memecoin launches, competition has intensified. On April 11, users launched 16,000 memecoins on Pump.fun. To stand out, traders are using any means necessary to grab attention. The livestreaming feature was initially limited to the top 5% of users but is now fully accessible. Traders must adhere to the new rules to avoid bans.
