Acurast Secures $5.4 million for Decentralized Cloud Computing
On May 26, Acurast announced a successful $5.4 million fundraising round. This move aims too enhance its decentralized cloud computing network. The sale concluded on May 22, with tokens priced at $0.09, valuing the company at $90 million.
The funding is open to the public, with a minimum investment of $100 and a maximum of $2 million per user. Acurast plans to use the capital to improve its smartphone-based network. This network supports various applications, such as blockchain and decentralized AI.
Alessandro De Carli, President of Acurast, said, “The new funds will help us refine our protocol. We aim to make computing verifiable, confidential, and energy-efficient using smartphones.”
Decentralized cloud computing is gaining popularity. Acurast has over 72,000 smartphones in its network, enabling 256 million transactions. This makes it the most decentralized computing network today.
