021 Acquires ArtsDAO to Boost Dubai’s Web3 Presence
Thesis-led venture studio 021 has taken a controlling stake in ArtsDAO, the Middle East’s largest Web3 community. This move aims to expand 021’s influence in Dubai’s blockchain ecosystem.
ArtsDAO connects art, culture, and blockchain. It boasts over 1,500 members, a 40,000-subscriber newsletter, and a 300,000-strong social media following. The community organizes events like ArtsDAO Fest, which drew 4,000 attendees.
021’s founder, Nigel Van Broekhoven, sees this as a step toward building culturally relevant, community-driven ventures. “We’re excited to support ArtsDAO’s growth and contribute to Dubai’s Web3 hub status,” he said.
Charles Plenet de Badts, 021’s executive chairman, will now lead ArtsDAO. He believes the UAE’s Web3 prominence is growing, and artsdao is key to capturing this momentum.
