Bybit Secures UAE’s First Full Crypto Exchange License
Bybit, a top cryptocurrency exchange, has achieved a important regulatory milestone. The company has obtained the Virtual Asset Platform Operator License from the UAE’s Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA). This makes Bybit the first crypto platform to receive such a license in the UAE.
The license confirms Bybit’s compliance with the SCA’s strict standards. It covers security, transparency, and operational integrity. This achievement follows an initial approval in February 2025. The license allows Bybit to offer crypto trading, brokerage, and custody services to both retail and institutional clients across the UAE.
Bybit’s success in the UAE is part of a broader regulatory strategy. The exchange has also secured the European Union’s Markets in CryptoAssets (MiCAR) license.Additionally, it resumed full trading in India after resolving registration issues and paying a $1 million fine.
With this license, Bybit plans to expand its operations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The company aims to hire locally and partner with firms for education and Web3 innovation.
Ben Zhou, Bybit’s co-founder and CEO, stated, “This license highlights our commitment to compliance and transparency. The UAE’s leadership in digital asset regulation strengthens our security and governance.”
