Crypto Giants Secretly Back Trump’s Inauguration with Millions
Recent financial filings have exposed that major crypto firms, including Consensys, Solana, and Uniswap, quietly contributed millions to Trump’s inauguration fund. The FEC report, released on April 20, sheds light on these undisclosed donations.
Solana Labs was a important contributor, donating $1 million without public acknowledgment. Uniswap’s CEO, Hayden Adams, gave $245,000, while Consensys pitched in $100,000. These contributions helped trump amass over $239 million for the grand event.
Other crypto giants like Ripple, Coinbase, and Kraken also donated seven-figure sums. Ripple was the top crypto donor, contributing nearly $4.9 million. These firms had previously disclosed their donations.
- Ripple donated almost $4.9 million.
- Coinbase, Kraken, and others gave seven-figure amounts.
- Apple and Meta each donated $1 million.
While the U.S. government covers the swearing-in ceremony, the surrounding festivities are privately funded. For this, a non-profit Presidential Inaugural Committee collects donations from private entities. This committee allowed Trump to feature his corporate backers prominently during the event.
AI companies and tech giants also joined the list of donors. OpenAI’s CEO, Sam altman, and Perplexity AI contributed, showing the tech industry’s broad support for the inauguration.
