Ethereum foundation Maps Out New Privacy Path
The Ethereum Foundation has launched a important update towards enhancing user privacy within its network.
The rebranded initiative, now called “Privacy Stewards of Ethereum,” outlines a strategy to incorporate privacy at different levels of Ethereum’s operations. Announced on September 12, this roadmap sets Ethereum on a path to safeguard user information against surveillance threats.
To achieve this, thefoundation is targeting three main areas:
- Private writes: Simplify private transactions and reduce costs through systems like PlasmaFold.
- Private Reads: Prevent data leaks using privacy-preserving RPCs and protect user activities.
- Private Proving: Streamline the creation of Zero-Knowledge Proofs for better security.
Ethereum’s Chief Visionary, Vitalik Buterin, emphasized privacy’s importance in April 2025. His roadmap included upgrades like FOCIL and EIP-7701 to support apps like Tornado Cash and Railgun without central oversight.
In the tokensphere, Ethereum (ETH) trades at approximately $4,522—a slight daily dip. yet, the weekly gain stands at about 5%, staying true to its broader uptrend. Key indicators show some weakening in bullish momentum though, suggesting imminent price direction shifts.
The strategic work on privacy will be pivotal in boosting Ethereum’s adoption and long-term viability in the crypto ecosystem.
