Farcaster Pro Launches with PRO Token Airdrop
Farcaster, a decentralized social media platform, has introduced Farcaster Pro.This premium version of its app, previously known as Warpcast, is now available for $120 annually. Early subscribers were pleasantly surprised with a PRO token airdrop.
On May 28, Farcaster quietly launched Farcaster Pro. Users who signed up early received a PRO token in their wallets.One subscriber shared on X, “I paid $120 for Farcaster Pro and got a $600 airdrop today.” A verification tool was also released to help users check if they were among the first 10,000 Pro users, possibly qualifying for more drops.
Within the first hour, Farcaster Pro attracted 3,700 subscribers. This translates to “100 paid subscriptions per user,” as noted by Farcaster. The platform isn’t just an app but a decentralized protocol supporting various mini apps.
Launched in 2020, Farcaster operates on Ethereum’s Layer 2 network, Optimism. It uses a hybrid model where user identity and key actions are on-chain, while social content is stored on decentralized hubs. This makes it censorship-resistant and scalable.
Farcaster’s user engagement has grown significantly. According to Dune Analytics, the platform’s daily active users peaked at nearly 50,000 in late March, before dipping and now rebounding to just under 40,000.
