GMGN Introduces Compensation for Sandwich Attack Victims
GMGN is now offering compensation to users who fall victim to sandwich attacks despite its new MEV protection feature. In a recent update, GMGN co-founder Haze explained the rise in malicious attacks due to MEV-powered bots.
To combat this, the platform has introduced a new MEV-protection system. However, Haze admits it’s not foolproof. Users experiencing attacks should contact the team for assistance.
Victims can receive compensation by providing their transaction hash and applying through official channels. “If verified that MEV was enabled during the attack, we will compensate you,” Haze stated.
In April 2025, Solana (SOL) trading apps faced over 260,000 sandwich attacks in 30 days. GMGN, despite its smaller trading volume, was the most impacted platform by attack percentage. Around 30.8% of these attacks occurred on GMGN.
Other platforms like Binance and Bitget are also addressing MEV attacks. binance warns users about account revocation for using MEV bots. bitget Wallet has upgraded its MEV protection to prevent unfair trading.
MEV bots manipulate crypto asset prices in liquidity pools, spreading false market sentiments. This new compensation policy aims to protect users and maintain fair trading practices.
