Google Updates Crypto Advertising Rules in EU

Starting mid-April,crypto businesses in the European Union must meet new rules to advertise on Google.These changes align with the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.

From April 23, crypto exchanges and wallet providers must be licensed as Crypto-Asset Service providers.This license should come from a relevant national authority.Google’s new policy affects 30 EU countries, including germany, France, Italy, and Spain.

Advertisers must also comply with local laws and get Google certification. Some countries have a transition period. For example,Finland’s deadline is June 30,and Germany’s is December 30. After these dates, only MiCA licenses will be mandatory for Google ads.

Google is updating its ad policy for crypto services in the EU. companies must be MiCA-compliant to advertise on the platform. MiCA is a set of rules for crypto assets. They need a license from a national authority. This applies to 30 countries, like Germany and France.

Existing licenses in some countries, such as Finland and Germany, will be accepted during a transition period. The deadlines vary. Finland’s ends on june 30 for Finland, and December 30 for Germany. After these deadlines, only MiCA licenses will be accepted.

google will warn advertisers before taking action on any violations. This ensures a smooth transition for businesses.
