KuCoin Launches Fully Licensed Crypto Exchange in Thailand
KuCoin has unveiled KuCoin Thailand, a fully regulated crypto trading platform. This marks the first locally licensed exchange under the KuCoin brand.
The platform is now open to all eligible Thai users after a successful invite-only pilot phase. It operates under Thailandās Securities and Exchange Commission, ensuring safety and compliance.
KuCoin Thailand offers crypto-to-crypto trading and fiat integration,including Thai Baht services. This makes it easier for users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies.
The launch follows an April 23 announcement. ERX Company Limited, Thailandās first SEC-supervised crypto exchange, rebranded to KuCoin Thailand. The transition, effective April 22, moved all existing ERX users to the new platform. The KuCoin TH app is now available for Android and iOS.
Thailandās crypto market is one of the most active in Southeast Asia. KuCoin joins a competitive field of eight othre SEC-licensed exchanges, including Bitkub and Upbit.
Despite regulatory challenges, interest in crypto trading remains high. KuCoin is also eyeing European expansion by securing a Markets in Crypto-Assets license. They submitted an submission in Austria in February, aiming to operate throughout the EU.
