Crypto adoption Surges: 55 Million U.S. Adults Now Engaged
A groundbreaking study by the National Cryptocurrency Association reveals that 55 million U.S. adults are now using cryptocurrency.The survey, the largest of its kind, shows that 21% of adults in the U.S. are embracing digital assets.
Conducted with Harris Poll, the research highlights crypto’s diverse user base. Younger adults dominate, with 67% of users under 45.However, 15% of users are over 55, indicating growing interest among older generations. Women also make up 31% of crypto holders.
interestingly,the construction sector has a higher crypto adoption rate (12%) than financial services (7%). Stuart Alderoty, President of the NCA, notes, “People from all walks of life are engaging with crypto and benefiting from it.”
Crypto’s appeal goes beyond financial gains. Forty-five percent of users cite learning and personal growth as key benefits. the same percentage enjoy being part of an emerging industry. Nearly 40% use crypto for purchases, with 9% using it daily.
Most users (81%) want to learn more about crypto, especially regarding security and regulation. Sixty-four percent support government oversight,but 67% fear it could hinder innovation.
Many see crypto’s potential in financial inclusion, digital transactions, and global cooperation. Alderoty adds, “we’re excited to learn more about how people use crypto in their daily lives.”
