Societe Generale-FORGE Launches Euro Stablecoin on Stellar Network
Societe Generale-FORGE, a Societe Generale Group subsidiary, has launched its euro-backed stablecoin on teh Stellar network. This move aligns with europe’s growing trend of regulated stablecoins.
On February 20, SG-FORGE announced the deployment of its MiCA-compliant stablecoin, EURCV CoinVertible, on Stellar.This multi-chain strategy aims to enhance cross-border payments and boost the digital asset ecosystem.
stellar’s fast, scalable, and cost-effective network will benefit users.The stablecoin will gain adoption among financial institutions and asset managers. Guillaume Chatain, chief revenue officer at SG-FORGE, stated, “Integrating with Stellar bridges traditional finance and digital assets. Stellar’s connections with asset managers and TradFi institutions align with our mission.”
This partnership will not only bring EURCV to traditional finance users but also enhance XLM utility in decentralized finance and web3. It will power asset tokenization, a rapidly growing sector with major players like BlackRock and Fidelity Investments.
Founded in 2018, SG-FORGE offers digital asset and blockchain services to institutional issuers and investors.It launched EURCV on Ethereum in April 2023 and plans to debut on the XRP Ledger in 2025.
SG-FORGE has regulatory approval as an electronic money institution and holds a digital asset service provider license. These credentials ensure compliance and trust in the financial market.
