S&P Global Unveils New index Bridging Traditional and Digital Finance
S&P Global is set to launch the S&P Digital Markets 50 Index, a groundbreaking benchmark that merges traditional finance with the digital asset world. This index will include 15 cryptocurrencies and 35 equities from companies involved in the blockchain ecosystem.
The index is a collaborative effort with Dinari, which will create a tokenized version. This makes the entire index tradable on-chain for the first time. Anna Wroblewska, Chief Business Officer at Dinari, highlighted the significance: “Investors can now access both U.S. equities and digital assets in one transparent product.”
This move comes as institutional demand for diversified exposure to digital assets grows globally.Cameron Drinkwater, chief product & operations officer at S&P DJI, noted, “Digital assets are now integral to core investment strategies.”
The S&P Digital Markets 50 Index aims to provide a consistent, rules-based approach to evaluating this new asset class. It will join S&P DJI’s existing digital-asset benchmarks, including the S&P Cryptocurrency Indices and the S&P Digital market Indices.
Key points include:
