Ethereum’s Layer 1 to Scale Tenfold in a year, Says Vitalik Buterin
At ETHGlobal Prague, Ethereum co-founder vitalik Buterin shared exciting news. He expects Ethereum’s Layer 1 to scale tenfold within the next year. This upgrade aims to enhance the network’s capacity safely.
Buterin stressed the importance of balancing scalability with decentralization. “We must scale safely,” he said. After the upgrade, there will be a pause to assess the network’s health. This break will allow developers to refine improvements and ensure everything runs smoothly.
Buterin’s comments address concerns about Ethereum’s sustainability. He believes the upcoming changes will benefit the broader ecosystem. “Larger block sizes on Layer 1 will create more space, making Layer 2 solutions more secure and efficient,” he explained.
In a chat with cLabs CTO Marek Olszewski, Buterin reiterated the importance of these upgrades. They will help Ethereum stay competitive in the crypto space.
Ethereum’s native token, ETH, has seen little price movement recently. It gained 0.03% in the past 24 hours, trading slightly above $2,500. Despite this stability, ETH is down about 10% from its monthly high.
