Wintermute Expands to U.S. with New York Office
Wintermute has set up shop in the U.S. by opening a headquarters in New York city. This move is part of the company’s broader strategy to grow its presence globally.
As part of this expansion, Wintermute has hired Ron Hammond as Head of Policy and Advocacy. Hammond brings nearly a decade of policy experience, including his role as Senior Director of Government Relations at the Blockchain Association.He also authored the Token Taxonomy Act while working on Capitol Hill.
Hammond’s role will be crucial in shaping digital asset regulations in the country. He believes the U.S. regulatory climate is becoming more favorable for crypto. “We see a great chance to promote responsible innovation,” he saeid. He will work with policymakers, industry groups, and regulators like the SEC.
CEO Evgeny Gaevoy said the New York office will help support U.S.-based partners and offer local OTC services. Gaevoy highlighted the firm’s “policy-neutral” stance. The company plans to hire five to ten more employees, adding to its 130-person global team. His job is to engage with federal and state officials.
